The Berlin Institute for Population and Development in cooperation with Deutsche Stiftung Weltbevoelkerung (SW) and the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis has launched its EU funded study "Africa 's demographic challenges - how a young population can make development possible". Against the backdrop of a rapidly growing population in Africa -the United Nations project that the continents' population might double by mid-century- the accompanying report investigates key questions such as possibilities to influence population growth and potential ways for Africa to maximize its development potential. |
