ASPHER opens its Brussels office to the European Academic Alliance for Global Health

Haines29 October 2010

The Academic Alliance, formed earlier this year at a meeting at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine organised by Andy Haines, advocates for evidence based EU policies, capacity strengthening and links between EU and partner country institutions to support research and evaluation for global health. It brings together academic groups across Europe - mostly members of the Association of Schools of Public Health in the European Region engaged with global health issues.

Membership has already grown from 20 to 36 and GHE will shortly join as an associate member to share our resources where this can help. The Alliance intends to develop dialogue with EU policy makers, starting in the new year with a session organised with the support of the Brussels office of ASPHER.
